Scheipeter Kitchen Remodeling St. Louis Counter Top

sw scheipeter construction in county living magazineS.W. Scheipeter Construction is honored to have been featured in County Living Magazine in an article titled “The Design/Build Advantage: Remodeling Achieves New Life for an Older Home”.

While kitchen bathroom, basement remodeling and room additions are right up the company’s alley, the ability to manage an entire re-design of a home is truly what sets Scheipeter apart. Indeed, the County Living article showcases this strength, from vision to project completion, in a profile of the work we did for a couple in University City, MO.

The Project

The project was a quaint two-story brick house of the type that many new owners were tearing down for the lot, and then building from scratch. Katie liked the neighborhood; she’d grown up less than a mile away but didn’t like many of the home’s dated aspects and inconvenient designs.

Why She Chose S.W. Scheipter

Homeowner Katie McGrath notes,

“I liked what Steve Scheipeter seemed to feel he could do with the space. They totally changed the vibe of the house, and they made it very easy for me. Since they spent plenty of time with me at my (old) house, they could see what my taste was. They could see what my stuff looks like, how I use the space, what my style of entertaining is.”

This refers to Katie’s desire to include plenty of space to allow hosting friends and relatives at a moment’s notice.

The Working Relationship With Scheipeter

One of the main criticisms of contractors and remodelers is how difficult they can be to work with. People who work with us may even anticipate poor communication, no-shows, disrespectful behavior, unfinished work, and disregard for the home and workspace. We work hard to put those fears to rest and ensure a pleasant, communicative, effective working relationship with every customer.

Katie, who works full time, found this to be the case, and was pleased that Scheipeter’s team respected her limited availability to discuss this knob or that, or select from these color swatches. The interior designer became a frequent lunch date.

“I’d break away and she’d meet me all over creation. She had already narrowed choices down to five or six based on what she knew about what I liked —not once did she have to go back to the drawing board. I was always in sync with what she had to recommend for me.”

Not only would Katie describe the process as efficient—it was enjoyable, every step of the way.

“You really get to know these people, and vice versa. They were just always gracious, helpful and happy to answer any and all of my zillion questions. It was a very interesting, and fun, process. There weren’t any surprises—except good ones!”
